#1 Personalized Learning Goals

  1. Goal: What is one problem you would like to solve or one type of learning you would like to promote in your classroom?

In working with students in this day and age I feel that we have to promote more of an active hands on learning.  Students do not want to read books and retain information, they want to be able to learn about the information and then apply their knowledge to create things.

  1. Type: Which of the three types of pedagogy learned in this lesson would be best to achieve your goal? Why?

In looking at our district I feel that it is a combination of all three of the types, Project-Based Learning, Flipped Learning and Blended Learning as it depends on the subject areas.  In the Business Education Classes I use more of the Project-Based Learning as the students create projects based on the information that is covered.

  1. Steps: What are the steps you want to take to get started?

The steps to get me started would be to research the different types of Project-Based learning that other teachers are using in other schools and then try and pilot some of the projects in my school.  I can meet with teachers in Google Hangouts, talked to teachers in twitter chats and even looks at what other educators might be sharing on pinterest.  I know that it will be an ever ending process as in the world of technology things are always changing.

  1. Success: How will you know if you are successful?

Success will come from a formative assessment, a rubric and then input from the students.  As in anything I can use the information to improve on for another year.

  1. Timing: When do you want to try this?

I would look at trying this in the next school year.
